Here’s the patch to add Spidfan’s translation to Towako Animation. Apply it to data.pkg in the same way as before. I have not tested it, and it’s probably subject to the same patching problems as TY2A. There are also strings of system text that aren’t translated. They disappeared and rendered the game non-functional when I tried to change them, and I frankly didn’t care enough to spend a ton of time bug testing.

This might only work with the version I modified, so send me your copy if it doesn’t patch properly. Any further patch versions will be added to this post.

Alternate patch 1 (DL version)

The Further Adventures of Flatty and Cowtits

Okay, let’s get this opening out of the way, because the rest of this post is actually important.

First of all, I want to give extremely special thanks to the user who went by the name “ultraenchantingwombatbouquet”, who figured out how to crack the password for the Animation version.

I don’t have a lot of behind-the-scenes things to note this time. First, you’ll notice that Yazaki has a steel plate in his jaw this game. This was from TY1, but never used. Kuroi also has a naked sprite that’s never used, although I found a place to insert it. Vinos is not the worst engine I’ve ever dealt with, but it is the worst to patch. It also feels very cheap, the equivalent of replacing your tableware with silver-coloured plastic utensils. It can’t seem to fade the music out properly, and there’s one bit where I had to completely replace the original code, because a certain macro simply doesn’t work in this version.

Now we get on to the important stuff. There is a high possibility of bugs. This is due to the length of the game, plus the fact that there are two versions of the script (each with slight code differences), plus the fact that I’m a very stupid person and decided to make this six versions of the script. As a result, I simply do not have the time to go over the game carefully in every form and make sure it’s acting properly. The engine is also finicky about encoding, so if I don’t handle the files properly, you get characters talking in front of black screens, or in the sky. If you see any clear bugs, tell me about them.

There is also a good chance that the Animation version won’t work on your copy. I don’t know why this is, but there seem to be subtle differences in the data.pkg file, and if you don’t have the right one, the patcher won’t patch. There will be a separate patch for the download and package editions. If the patch doesn’t work for you, you will have to send me your data.pkg, and I will have to remake the patch from scratch. The original version (when it’s available) will not be affected by this.

By default, the story has been broken up into three sections for each route: Tatsurou’s POV, the heroine’s POV, and the heroine’s website scenes. As a bonus, I have added in a new “hybrid mod”, which basically entails putting almost all of the story back into chronological order.

There are two versions of the script to choose from: Separate, which shows scenes that involve multiple perspectives individually, and Combined, which contains my attempt to switch between perspectives fluidly. Both of these versions involve a small degree of reworking and rewriting in places. This mod is not recommended for your first playthrough, but might help to give the game more replayablility.

Somewhere along the line, the Separate version got screwed up entirely, and I simply don’t have the time to go through the game yet again to see if it’s been fixed. I think it’s okay now, but if it isn’t, let me know.

The OP movie in the mod version has also been replaced by the R18 promo for the game.

Back when TY2 came out, they experimented with producing promotional scenes for TABA. A lot of people interpreted this as a kind of Day 1 DLC, or believed that these were scenes that had been taken out of the game. I personally think that this is wrong, and that there are some signs that these scenes were made specifically for TABA, but that’s neither here nor there. What’s important is that I’ve put these scenes “back” into the game.

The TABA scenes that have been added to the main game are:

  • Yukikaze/Rinko (soapland/AV shoot)
  • Yukikaze (in bed with Inui)
  • Rinko (at the beach)
  • Shizuru (with school faculty)
  • Shiranui (almost-nearly continuation of her original in-game scene)

Incidentally, I say almost-nearly because there are some slight continuity differences in these scenes, and in Shiranui’s case she goes from having held back from orgasming for several years to just one year. Go figure.

However, these scenes have also been available from the official translation for a long time, so I figured I should add something further. I have also added the three RPGX scenes that have a direct connection to TY1 or 2:

  • Shiranui’s remodelling and training (featuring Real and Yazaki, with censored names and no eyeballs)
  • Shiranui’s stage show and after-show session (featuring Yazaki)
  • Shiranui’s wedding dress scene (featuring the Inma King)

I will produce a standalone viewer version of these at some point in the new year.

To unlock these scenes, you have to see the true ending of the game, the option for which is unlocked once you see the right bad endings. Essentially, once you have the other two diary sections unlocked, the true route option will become available at the second choice, and the true ending will unlock the Shiranui diary section. This improves on the original game, which would normally never give you any reason to even suspect there was a true ending unless you already knew about it.

(NOTE: In the Animation version, the option that leads to the true ending will not appear if you’re loading a save made at the second choice. You must start from the beginning, or an earlier save.)

Anyway, I think that’s about all from me (apart from the patch versions I still have to do), and I look forward to getting five million messages telling me that something doesn’t work.
