(And if you're wondering what the difference is, this version contains different art, a higher resolution, and an exclusive bonus hot springs event.)

Anonymous asked:

Would you ever not translate a VN even if it's the top voted one just because you hated the game?

I might favour something else over it, if they're close enough together. I'm always keen to remind people that this is a request list, not a vote. I have the right of veto, since it's my own time I'm going to be wasting.

Anonymous asked:

Do you ever get the urge to write your own vn's? Like "ugh what are these idiots doing, I should get in on this game"

Sort of. I have broad ideas for games, but what I don't have is any characterization or storytelling skill.

Anonymous asked:

In KS1 you have lieri bishop, naomi evans and donny bohgan. Bishop is an english surname, evans is a welsch surname, and bohgan is an irish surname. Do you think KS1 is actually a clever commentary on the politics of the kingdoms of the british isle?

It's just them picking out random European-sounding names. Plus, that series has incredibly inconsistent official transliteration: in the KS1 days, Naomi's surname was supposed to be Evance.

Anonymous asked:

Do you ever make references?

I don't think so, Tim.

Anonymous asked:

Hey Rattanman, glad to see u still alive after all these years. Been a fan of yours since the Kangoku Senkan days. I wonder if Lilith will release another VN ever again...unless they run out of money I guess. Why waste money and time making VNs that may or may not sell well, just make ez to milk mobile games instead.

Technically, they did just release a standard Lilith Soft title. They're probably either testing the waters, or trying to cater to the more vanilla crowd, who wouldn't touch Taimanin RPGX no matter what they put in it. So there is a little reason to be optimistic.

Anonymous asked:

have you ever considering moving to japan at some point in your life?

Yes. I don't really want to, but that is my plan for when Western society collapses in on itself.

Anonymous asked:

Do you have a male lean, a female lean, or neither?

I have a slouch.

Anonymous asked:

Do you ever miss the days of in person black friday shopping and watching people engage in deathmatches over a $200 TV?

Personally, I just called in bomb threats, so I could loot the place in peace.

Anonymous asked:

How do some vn  companies like tsurumiku survive despite only releasing one or two games a year? Are all the employees just doing it as a part time gig or something?

No idea. What's even more baffling is when you get a company like Pako Pako Soft, that's been completely dead for years, and then suddenly they start making more games.

Anonymous asked:

Have you ever watched live-action porn rather than stuff from eroges/hentai?

Of course I have. It's intensely boring.

Anonymous asked:

Does translating these games generate you any income in some way, or do you do this out of the goodness of your heart?

I'm just doing this in my spare time. I don't need to exploit you guys for money. Yet.

Anonymous asked:

When it comes to eroge/hentai/porn in general, do you have any major turn-offs?

The only thing I actively dislike is when somebody is obsessed with a fetish to the point where it's obnoxious or detrimental. Examples would include inflation and weight gain (which stretch character proportions to the point of moronity), or foot fetish (which you can always, always identify, because the feet either account for 90% of an image's frame or 90% of its detail).

Anonymous asked:

Why do you think lilith games are so popular? There are plenty of other vn devs with decent art and plot, but lilith has almost become a staple in the eroge genre.

At this point, it's mainly brand recognition. But the original answer is TA1, which proved popular enough to ultimately determine the entire course of the studio. I expect it was one of those "right product at the right time" scenarios, as there weren't a lot of games out at the time which both went that hard, and contained art that good. It seems like nothing now, but I remember the CGs standing out from the crowd, years before I was ever able to play the game.

Anonymous asked:

Since you didn't bring her up when you talked about KS1 the other night, what do you think of Naomi Evans overall? (For the record, in case it wasn't clear, I'm referencing her appearances in KS3 plus Lilith-Izm03 ~If Story Hen~ and not just KS1.)

She's the more interesting of the two original heroines, but not by very much. By the time we get to her scene in KS3, she seems kind of dull compared to most of the other characters.

Anonymous asked:

If AI could perfectly replicate your translations abilities but take the same time as you do to finish them would you still do it yourself or would you use AI ?

There would be absolutely no point in me putting in the effort anymore.

Anonymous asked:

Are you acepting votes for Seigi no Henshin Heroine o Sasaeru Ore to Aku no Onna Kanbu now?

I always accept requests for anything.

Anonymous asked:

Is there an eroge/hentai that you at least dislike but basically everyone else seems to at least like it? For me, it's Kuroinu. (I'm prepared for torches and pitchforks lol.)

Kangoku Senkan 1 is awful. There are some decent aspects to it, but overall it's got no plot and no good characters. Bogan himself is an incredibly pathetic figure in that first one, driven only (and to the point of childishness) by a petty grudge over something that was entirely his fault. He and Rieri are miles better in KS2, where they're essentially completely different characters.

Anonymous asked:

Would it be possible for you to also creat a list of other translation patches that was not done by you but you just help to spread around ?

That's what the VNDB is for. I'm not keen to do that myself; I already have enough trouble with people incorrectly crediting me for them.

Anonymous asked:

Do you prefer windows or mac?

They're both becoming increasingly crap, but MacOS wins automatically by virtue of not being modern Windows. I would say that Linux is starting to look preferable to either of them, but on the other hand, lol Linux.

Anonymous asked:

Is it weird that I once had a dream in which I got stuck in your house for some reason and I don't think you were home during most of the dream? (Yes, that actually happened to me once, although my head's version of your house probably looks little to nothing like your actual house.)

Yes. But more importantly, how did you get in? I need to know where to lay the Home Alone deathtraps.

Anonymous asked:

What is your current translation project you are working on? Is it Seigi no Henshin Heroine o Sasaeru Ore to Aku no Onna Kanbu?

No. It's Tsuma Netori. That game still theoretically has somebody working on it, but if they don't deliver soon, then it's very high priority.

Anonymous asked:

Cringiest scene in Lilith for you (it can either be a hentai or a game)?

I hated so many of the comedy parts of TABA. Particularly anything with Lilim and Minasaki, who were just infuriating in that incarnation.

Anonymous asked:

My mom had a stroke when she saw a nudist person ran by. Should I keep my composure or should I masturbate in public, too.

Well, you're banned.

Anonymous asked:

With how lucrative the gacha model is for lilith, do you think other companies like Liquid will make gacha games of their own?

A lot of them do. But you have to have a central series to base it off of, or nobody will play it. Even having good art, scenes and characters won't particularly matter if all the scenes feel disconnected and random. That's part of what killed the Empress gacha.

Anonymous asked:

First hentai you watched? I think my first was Mejoku (mostly because of YouTube video of a compilation of sorts showing its funny moments) with Itadaki! Seieki♥ following suit very soon.

If we’re talking anime, then I have no idea. I never liked hentai anime, so whatever it was, it left no impact on me whatsoever. The first (and almost only) memorable ones I watched were Dragon Pink, followed by Blood Shadow.

Anonymous asked:

What's your opinion on politics? all the politics.

whatever it is, I think you're wrong and I'm right

FUCK YOU. DRAIN THE ORANGE MAN. SMASH THE DEFUNDING. COVID IS A SOCIAL CONSTRUCT. MAKE TRANS RIGHT AGAIN.

Anonymous asked:

Hi can i request these 2 games

https://vndb.org/v4217

https://vndb.org/v16733

thanks man

Got it. They're still low down on the list, but I've added more notches next to them.

Anonymous asked:

Do you believe that Palestinians and Hamas are one of the same and deserve to be destroyed in full support of Israel?

I believe shut up. Nobody comes to this blog to be subjected to politics. If they wanted someone to tell them what to think, they would just consume a modern entertainment product.

Anonymous asked:

So i was checking the new lilith game on VNDB and it says the scenario is made by Frameフレーム, while i see the guy has written vanilla stuff most of his later works are NTR (for Heiantei if you are curious) and he/she has worked in a lot of dark games, my question is if we are sure the new game is vanilla and not a rape focused one. Some scenes/preview picture seen quite rapey or at least NC

PS:now that i remember some of the older lilith soft games had plenty of rape, like Shion.

It's going to be vanilla by our standards. The basic gist is, the protagonist is the son of a family in the pharmaceutical industry, and a tough-as-nails delinquent type has to enter into an obedience contract with him, in exchange for a brand new drug for her brother's incurable disease. So the game is basically extortion, but don't expect her eyeballs to get fucked out the back of her skull or anything.

Anonymous asked:

Have you ever played any games or VNs in Japanese (regardless if it's its original language or not)?

Not really. There was a long period when I wasn't playing VNs much anymore, and ever since I started doing this, I haven't had time to. The only one I have read entirely in Japanese was the crappy Discipline afterstory, and that barely counts. Of course, that's not taking into consideration all the gacha story content I have to sit through, which is probably the length of several games by this point.

Anonymous asked:

What do you think about the terrible management of the global version of RPGX if you have heard anything about it?

It's hilarious, but I doubt it's going to kill the game. If something as crappy as TABA can last for five years on just one site in one language, it's unlikely that any gaffe is going to be big enough to ruin global RPGX. The only reason I could see for it not lasting as long as TABA is if, somehow, the operating costs are far heavier, and it requires more whales to keep it afloat. But given that most of the content and programming is already done for them, it doesn't seem likely.

Anonymous asked:

Do you recall which ending you got in Shiyouchuu ~W.C.~? For the record, you don't need to explain what happens.

Why would I remember that, fifteen years later? All I recall about that game is that it was short, low-resolution and absolute dogshit.

Anonymous asked:

Which of your translations so far would you say was the most hyped?

I don't know by what metric to judge that. TA3 got the biggest reaction, but I didn't announce it in advance. There was a decent amount of anticipation surrounding Ochiru Hitozuma after I announced that. TA0's release prompted so many requests at once that it made me entertain putting TY2 off to focus on that instead. However, I'm not sure it would have been as hotly anticipated if not for the fact that it was brand new.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think it's good decision if Lilith release Taimanin Asagi 4 while Black and Oboro already dead? I like Asagi in this timeline because she has MILF aura.

It would be preferable to only having the Zero timeline. While it’s interesting to retcon things so that Black wins, the good guys lose, all the student Taimanin get raped to death offscreen, etc., that was never intended to be the canonical ending to TA3. So if they’re going to play with multiverses, they should probably still be prepared to carry on with what they set up at the end of the Asuka route. But of course, there's always going to be that issue of the lack of story, now that the primary antagonists are gone.

Anonymous asked:

With TABA English ending service soon, would you be interested in translating the last two scenes featuring Aina Winchester? It's even got a Christmas theme in case that interests you.

Are they really going to arbitrarily ignore a single card? I mean, sure. If they don’t do it, I will. That's the one where she's dressed as Santa, correct?

Anonymous asked:

How many endings did you get in Shiyouchuu ~W.C.~?

One was enough.

Anonymous asked:

Most irritating video game enemy for you?

All that's coming to mind is G-Akiha in Melty Blood, and that's only because I'm shit at fighting games.

Anonymous asked:

is H-scene in RPGX don't have any relation to Main Story, Event Story, or another characters H-scene ?

No scenes are canonical to the story. Certain scenes are specifically related to events, as alternate scenes, theoretical bad ends, etc., but this is pretty rare. Some scenes involving individual characters have continuity with each other, but others do not. For example: Maika scenes have continuity with each other, including the Future Maika ones. Maya has two scenes which contradict one another. Hebiko, on the other hand, now sort of has two branches of scenes: Originally, there was a scene where she lost her virginity to Fuuma, and this was followed by a number of other Fuuma x Hebiko scenes. Then, last year, they started a new continuity where she was still a virgin, but was going to undertake Inage's Bedroom Arts training in order to become the biggest slut in town, so that she could have the skills and sex appeal to seduce Fuuma. (Which makes total sense, obviously.) And this is the continuity they appear to be going with now, as it's reflected in Future Hebiko scenes.

Anonymous asked:

So I recently heard that is TABA will shut down. (Last I checked, there's no exact date though it said it was in late December.) Do you have any thoughts on this news?

Nope. As far as I'm concerned, it already shut down almost five years ago. I had heard that the English version had pretty much run out of content to localize, so that's not a surprise in the slightest.

Anonymous asked:

Has the taimanin storyline basically stagnated ever since lilith stopped releasing standalone games?

It started before that, when TABA began to water down aspects of the world and lore. Then the gacha format necessitated that they constantly introduce new characters that did not fit the setting, or justify characters' gimmicky outfits through various contrived excuses. The game began to grow a little more populist, a little more vanilla, a little more experimental, a little more overtly comical. And since they were still making VNs at the time, aspects of the new lore and tone began to enter the series, particularly with Taimanin Kurenai and TA0.

Then you get the reset with RPGX, and at that point, it's practically a completely different story, world, tone, and even depiction of characters. My favourite example of this is the degradation of Yomihara, which is now just a mildly dangerous place, full of free, unenslaved women, such as Clone Asagi and her Scooby-Doo detective agency gang. It's still basically run by Nomad, except that they're not particularly evil anymore. And despite being run by Nomad, Taimanin can come and go as they please, or even live there "undercover" in an incredibly conspicuous way, as head of the goddamn Neighbourhood Association. There are tons of violent gangs, but they also have certain events where they all agree to just... not fight anymore. And no one takes advantage. It's unbelievable how diametrically opposite the series has become to its original version. The story chapters of RPGX are the only thing they seem to still take seriously, but even then, they've changed the story, setting and characters so much that there is no way to reconcile them with the old games anymore.

Anonymous asked:

What do you think of the translation of RPGX so far?

I haven't played it, but neither have I heard many complaints about it. The "Diot" thing is stupid, and Devildom is obviously a weird localization choice, when you could just say "Hell" or "Demon World". It makes sense when you think about it, but Devildom sounds like it means "the quality of being demonic", rather than "the land of demons". The only thing I have a serious problem with is that they apparently, at one point, translated "ass pussy" as "bussy", which warrants a hammer to the face.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think you'll play the English version of RPGX? I'm planning on doing so, for the record.

Nope. I barely have time for the original. That's also why I don't play Action.
