What do you think will be the next trend after gacha games, or are gacha games just the end all be all of gaming?

The next step is gacha/loot box/subscription-driven AI games. There's a reason why the games industry never fails, even when it's affected by the same things that have been killing other industries. The interactivity aspect makes it hard for any other form of media to compete, and it inherently creates novelty. The only thing more novel than normal video games would be AI-driven games, which could generate genuinely unique scenarios without the limitation of human developers having to think them up. And you just know that, at some point, some douchebag is going to come along with a game that has the perfect combination of addictiveness and predatory monetizing.

The other day I was on r/plantsvszombies and someone in a now removed post showed a tweet of someone complaining (I think) about how an objective in the second game sounds suggestive. (Granted, that was probably an accident on the part of whoever came up the objective.) For the record, it was "Blow off zombies 30 times."; yes, all that actually happened. If the series involved giving zombies blowjobs, would you play it?

I don't think zombies work that way. They may look happy to see you, but it's only rigor mortis.

Anonymous asked:

Do you have an opinion on Kangoku Academia? If so, what is it?

I haven't had time to play it.

So apparently the English version of RPGX is finally coming out. Any thoughts? Do you even care enough to comment?

I'm hardly surprised, given that they localized TABA, and announced this localization over a year ago. I'm not planning to play it, for obvious reasons. I half-heartedly played English TABA for a few weeks, until I couldn't be bothered going over the same material anymore. All I personally care about is how it affects me: i.e., I guess I'm not going to be doing any more scenes, barring some kind of special circumstances. Frankly, I would have been doing them more regularly if I hadn't known from the start that this day was coming.

Speaking of which, I do hope that the translation is better than TABA, which (in my limited experience), ranged wildly from good to awful. Even in the middle of that spectrum, there were still bits I didn't approve of, such as when mentions of things like smegma were omitted for no apparent reason. Probably most egregiously, I saw them translate the typically Japanese cries of "It feels good" as "I love it", which completely changes the context of a scene. Let's say a character is being raped, and she's trying desperately to resist an overload of pleasure, and failing. And now, let's say she suddenly declares "I love it!" This obviously alters the entire perception of the situation, making it look like she's a slut, or like the situation has become consensual. These things may seem minor, but RPGX is by far a more story-heavy game than TABA, with some events containing a tenth as many lines as an entire Lilith VN. They need to take it more seriously, no matter how stupid some of the storylines get.

Apart from that, I'm mainly surprised that they're modifying the game so much. I hear there might be PVP, and apparently, there will even be guilds for some reason. I can't be bothered to look into it that closely, but it may end up fairly different from the original. It would be interesting if it ended up supplanting the original game, or if the Japanese start demanding features from the global version that the original developers weren't prepared to include.

Also, RPGX Extasy is a fucking stupid name. That's all I can think of.

Am I the only one who think DMM/FANZA are extremely anti-consumer friendly in the west? I mean recently they just up and decided they would region lock most of DMM and all of FANZA (It was apparently not the first time). I can't help but think of some old conservative Japanese Director who think he's still living in the Tokugawa era when the Sakoku Edict was still a thing.

The Japanese, by and large, don't really care about the West. That extends to a lot of entertainment companies, who only focus on the domestic market. I don't really see the economic logic behind trying to cut off international customers, but DMM are hardly the first ones to do it. They may be trying to stop gaijin from accessing the majority of the site, so that they can siphon them all into the much smaller sections where they provide English- and Chinese-language stuff.

Anonymous asked:

Do you ever look at the comments section of previous asks?

I get notified about new comments by email. Even if I'm the one commenting, for some reason.

Anonymous asked:

Do the release of shitty MTLs dissuade you from choosing a game for translation?

Maybe a little. I think the main thing is that they read very well these days, regardless of their actual quality, so people are a lot more satisfied with them. As such, if something gets a machine translation patch, I don't think I'm going to receive as many requests for it. That said, there are already MTL patches for some games at the top of my list, and that's not going to stop me from working on them if and when the time comes.

Anonymous asked:

Big nipples or small ones?

They're perfectly average, thank you very much.

Anonymous asked:

In the Sept 22nd, 2023 ask, were you referencing that Ochiru Hitozuma scene in which Ryouko is subjected to double penetration?

I was indeed referring to the one and only scene she has.

Anonymous asked:

do you still have any hope for black lilith VNs or do you think its joever

Given that it's been over four years since their last VN, none whatsoever. Not unless they either start failing at gacha for some reason, or hire more writers specifically so that they can still crank out VNs.

The thing is, there's a happy medium that they could be going for if they felt like it. I was reminded of this today because of the new Yukikaze/Rinko unit, which is a direct reference to TY1, without technically fitting in with its story or version of the world. What I think they should do is adapt all of the main games to the gacha universe, and sell them piece-by-piece in the Library screen. Say, 200 Taima stones gets you one chapter of a game plus two scenes, similar to what you would get with an SR unit. Updated art and designs; whatever changes are required to incorporate the gacha version of Gosha; cameos and scenes added for popular gacha characters; etc. The scripts for the scenes could remain largely untouched (barring continuity changes or censorship); they could re-use old voice files; and, given the lesser production standards, they could even reuse all the same music, backgrounds and character CGs they already have. It would take less effort than usual, be different enough to provide fans with reason to buy the same games again, and eventually allow them to carry out their original plans for TA0 and TY3 in some form.

Just commenting to let you know that someone created a MTL patch for Kouyoku Senki ExS-Tia. They've also released the tools used for creating the patch. I think that title is somewhat high up on your request list. I can give you a link to it if Tumblr allows links. While I'm not sure how viable you think doing a translation is for you, at least you know the game is patchable.

Thanks for telling me. I personally have a feeling that the game will be picked up by Shiravune or MangaGamer or someone before I ever have to properly consider it. Still, it's good to know that there are tools out there now.

Anonymous asked:

Hottest Ochiru Hitozuma character?

Ryouko, obviously. The others are plain, and she's the only one with a good scene.

Anonymous asked:

do you have any tips on how to cure eroge addiction? i always spend my free time playing eroge everyday

I know that when there's a song stuck in your head, the conventional wisdom is to try and replace it with another, less annoying song. So maybe try and wean yourself onto something simpler, such as cigarettes or crack. In fact, if you develop enough addictions, then you'll eventually reach the point where they, ipso facto, cease to be addictions at all, because you simply won't have time to indulge in any of them excessively. I believe this is what they do when celebrities go to rehab.

Anonymous asked:

Would you consider translating Bishoujo Mangekyou -Wasurenagusa to Eien no Shoujo- or any of there other untranslated game in this series.

I thought there were already people working on those games. There are certainly some projects listed on their VNDB pages. I can make a note of that, but if there are already translators working through the series, I wouldn't presume to steal a project from them.

Anonymous asked:

What's the most degenerate act you've ever committed?

I'd like to tell you, but I'm on enough watchlists already.

Anonymous asked:

Did all of lilith's twitter accounts get suspended? I decided to check their twitter and see if there was anything non gacha related but their account was suspended, at least the one i checked, i don't know any others like for the writters, etc

I believe I recall hearing about that happening. It was ages ago, so I'm surprised they still link to that account from their home page. Sasayama's account is the main one you want to pay attention to for new information.

Anonymous asked:

Are you into Inyouchuu? For me I think it has its moments but it overall isn't my thing. (Granted, I haven't seen all scenes partly because not all of its games have localizations.)

Not really. I haven't played it.

Anonymous asked:

Do you have any habits?

Well, I tend to breathe in and out pretty regularly. I've been thinking of giving that up. I'm also developing a facial twitch, which I have a feeling will only be solved with the aid of adhesive tape. Sometimes, when I have nothing to do, I find myself removing my earwax and moulding it like Silly Putty. And whenever I sit down to take a shit, I have to keep standing back up again, in case there are venomous spiders hiding in the toilet. So, on the whole, nothing out of the ordinary.

Anonymous asked:

What's a scene in a Lilith game that was annoying to you and you didn't care for?

Basically anything involving tentacles.

Anonymous asked:

I recall you mentioning Eden's Ritter in a previous post. Have you played any games from that franchise or seen any of its hentai scenes?

No.

Anonymous asked:

Hello, Rattan Man. Are you planing to translate Omae no Kaa-chan, Ii Onna da yo na. in future?

Not actively. It looks decent enough, but it's not yet in the running. And I have a feeling that before it ever did creep its way to the top of the requests list, it would almost certainly be officially localized. Given that Orcsoft have three localizers licensing from them these days, I'm surprised it hasn't been picked already.

Anonymous asked:

Would you say Edwin Black is the best Lilith villain out of all the games you've played?

That depends. Not in most of them. His value lies in the buildup. They wave him in front of you to tantalize you, and to reinforce the fact that he's unbelievably dangerous. If the Taimanin are superhumans who take on horrific monsters without batting an eyelid, then it says a lot when they're shown to be very afraid of him, and unable to even scratch him under normal circumstances. By giving us these little glimpses, they build him up as a threat and a mysterious figure, so when he finally takes a proactive villain role in TA3, you know some serious shit is going down.

That said, if you strip all that context away and focus solely on his character, there's not much to him at times. In most games he's just there in the background somewhere, out of sight. If judging by cool factor alone, he's probably the best, but if judging by personality, then he's competing with characters like Oboro and Ingrid, who get a lot more development and screen time.

Anonymous asked:

Have you checked out Taimanin Shiranui: Inyoku no Dorei Shoufu?

No. I keep forgetting it exists.

Anonymous asked:

Hey I want to go to a comic con near me soon and I want to ask you what you think is a fair price to get stepped on. I've seen quotes ranging from $5 to $20. I'm hoping to get stepped on and degraded like the submissive slave that I am, how much do you think I should be paying the cosplayers?

I believe you already get that treatment with the ticket prices.

Anonymous asked:

What do you think will happen to japanese H Games industry? Do you think its gonna be dying because japan population is decreasing?

The only way that it "dies" is if the Japanese stop being willing to pay money for the games. Even if everything goes gacha, there will still be a doujin scene to fill the void.

The population is largely irrelevant: Supposing that it decreased by half, but the culture stayed the same, then it stands to reason that you would simply get half the content—which is still a huge amount overall. The one caveat to that, of course, is if they try to compensate for a population decline by inviting foreigners, who will then come to Japan and ruin it. In that case, there's a serious risk of the culture starting to take on more Western sensibilities, and getting controlled by all the same kind of pressure groups that would make the Japanese porn landscape nearly impossible over here.

Anonymous asked:

I saw someone on a subreddit dedicated to bashing Caillou gush about Galadriel's feet. (The version of her in Rings of Power to be more specific.) He even said he wants to scrap out the dirt beneath her "toes nails" then use a mortar to grind them up. He also stated he wants to pestle and inhale the dirt using a crackpipe next. He also thanked Amazon for making Rings of Power and for showing her feet in one scene. The title of the post in which he said that even stated she's "so hot" with an emoji with hearts in its eyes. (For the record, although this is a nonsense question, I didn't make that up.)

If the redditor who made that post made an eroge, would you check it out?

I don't think they let you make software in padded cells.

Anonymous asked:

Now that its English translation is out, have you played Walkure Romanze or do you plan to play it soon?

I have no interest whatsoever.

Anonymous asked:

Have you ever been on a date?

Not since the court injunction.

Anonymous asked:

Do you play any normie, sfw games?

No. I don't have time for them.

Anonymous asked:

What do you usually jack off to

Pornography.

Anonymous asked:

Which is more overrated: anal sex or poutine?

Well, they're both pretty equal. It's just that with poutine, you don't mind if there's warm, brown slop all over.

Anonymous asked:

Which endings did you get in Starless before you dropped it?

No idea, and I can't check because I don't have it installed anymore.

Anonymous asked:

I unzip the game Taimanin Yukikaze 2 Animation and I want to modify some files but I don't know how to repackage everything, do you have an app or tutorial that I can follow?

It's just a .zip with a different extension and a password lock. If you can extract the files, then you should already know the password to use when you zip them up again. As long as the game can decrypt the file with it, it should work.

Anonymous asked:

Who's that Lilith character you brought up in a previous ask?

That could be anybody, but I'm assuming you mean the male character from a week ago. He's one of the villains of Mahou Shoujo Fairy Knights.

Anonymous asked:

When was the last time you had a "Damn, I wish that were me" moment with media?

I don't think ever.

Anonymous asked:

Would you say you tend to enjoy good antagonists?

I guess. Villain likability can be as important as hero likability.

Anonymous asked:

Do you take requests in regards to what music you listen to whilst translating?

Sorry, no. It's Car Bomb or nothing.

Anonymous asked:

Do you have big eyebrows?

Technically no, although I do have to keep trimming them.

Anonymous asked:

What do you think about lilith shifting to non porn game?

I'd almost rather they make a straight action game in the original Taimanin universe than a porn game in the watered-down gachaverse. Action Taimanin would be a perfect opportunity to drop Fuuma, ditch the school and focus purely on the Taimanin as an organization. Think the opening of TA2, expanded to an entire fighting game, with a focus on criminality, societal decay and espionage.

Anonymous asked:

What's your zodiac sign

Wesley the Lardass Ferret. It's a very rare constellation, only visible for about three and a half minutes a year, weather depending. We're supposedly impulsive, charismatic, psychotic, and deeply confused by mirrors.

Anonymous asked:

Before you dropped Starless, did you play enough of the VN to get to any of the endings? (For the record, I believe the earliest one you can get is on the fourth day. And, no, I don't think that's a spoiler by itself from what I can pick up.)

I got several of the endings. It's just that none of them were good enough to compensate for how boringly drawn-out and repetitive that game was. The mere fact that it takes 3-5 straight minutes—on skip mode—to get past the mandatory party scene should give you some idea of the problem.

Anonymous asked:

Which Lilith character do you think you're the closest to in personality? For me it's Asuka; we're both competitive, careless (sometimes), can tease people, and are at times impulsive.

Oboro. Specifically the RPGX version, where she's devolved into just a bitter, insular cat lady.

Anonymous asked:

Which Lilith character do you feel is the most like you appearance-wise? For me, it's probably Manuela.

Probably this guy:

He's got my hair and my rugged good looks down to a tee.
