Do you have any idea what leads a game to possibly become localized? Is it just whatever they can get or do certain factors play a role?

I know that certain localizers do surveys among their customers. If there's a game that's heavily in demand, and they can negotiate the rights to redistribute it, then it's obviously in their best interest to pick it up. Another factor can be pre-existing relationships, such as JAST has with Empress, and MangaGamer has with Clockup. And if a popular game has a sequel, it's a no-brainer that they'll be interested in that too.

Anonymous asked:

Is there a way to see how many requests a game gets or is that something you prefer to keep to yourself?

I typically don't release that, because knowing it affects what people ask for.

Anonymous asked:

New Maika wasn't vanilla this time should I just give up Rattan? Also good luck on your translations

Weren't her first couple of RPGX scenes relatively vanilla? There's always that. Never mind that she goes on to drink a couple gallons of orc piss in her very next scene. She's practically yours!

Anonymous asked:

If mangagamer ever picks up another black lilith game like they did with Soukou Kijo Iris. Would you be annoyed because it means you translation work would end up being redundant, or happy since that means we get uncensored CG?

Somewhat annoyed. Obviously, I'm looking to avoid doing work that will ultimately be made redundant. Unlike manga, where you can easily have two or three competing translations, it's not worth picking up a game that might get localized, due to the time and effort involved. I don't think MangaGamer will get the rights to any further titles, unless Infini Brain gives up on trying to put the games on Steam themselves. And if they keep contracting out to their own people, we're not going to get uncensored CGs anyway. Frankly, I don't see uncensored CGs as a necessity, because I think I can just about imagine what a penis looks like.

Anonymous asked:

Would you translate a game from Liquid?

In theory, yes. It depends on if:

  1. Their games can be patched (which I haven't checked)
  2. A game of theirs is attractive or requested enough to be worth considering
  3. It seems unlikely that the specific game will get localized
#1 is technically the most important, because if I can't patch it, I can't patch it. But localization is my most pressing concern at the moment. Every single non-Lilith game I look into doing seems to get taken: Inyouchuu, Kenzen, Teisoukannen Zero, etc. I honestly don't want to just do Lilith games, but they seem like the safest options right now—at least, unless their Korean localizers get their act together.

Do you think Real and Zokuto will be given larger roles in TY3 (if it ever gets made) or be quickly disposed of like Muneichi in TY2? I would be interested in seeing if Real would be given a demon form and become a proper nemesis towards Rinko, which was something that they were seemly building up to in the previous games.

I would expect them to come up with a new setting. I don't think Real would fit into the story unless it were set in Yomihara (at least, for more than a quick flashback or cameo). Zokuto could make an appearance anywhere, and he should, because he didn't get enough content in the first game. But as for whether or not we could expect them to play a significant part in the story, I rather doubt it. A third part would definitely feature Kuroi in some new body, but they wouldn't necessarily try to revisit too many things from the first game.

Anonymous asked:

How much liberty do you take when you translate. I dont see words like honey pot or flesh pot or whatever in your translations. is that just black lilith not using those words or do you use a synonym

I've just done a quick search, and it seems to be down to the writer. Asagi 0 and Kurenai only used the term "honey pot" a couple of times each, but Yukikaze 2 used it 56 times.

I try not to take too many liberties, but I will admit I have become a little more lax about that over time. First of all, there are some areas where you absolutely need to do a little bit of rewriting. This is typically because there's something that doesn't translate well, but it can also extend to situations where a strictly accurate translation would be confusing.

For instance, in just about any gangbang or group scene, there will be lots of instances of "the man" doing something (speaking, laughing, thrusting, etc.). The script almost never explains which specific man is doing it: That's to be inferred from the situation. When "the man" pounds her vagina, it clearly means the man who's engaging in vaginal sex, rather than the one engaging in oral sex. But if "the man" does something that isn't that specific (say, smirking), then even if we were just talking about the one in her vagina, we're not necessarily still talking about the same person. The writers expect you to pay attention to the fact that Man 3 was the last male character to talk, and understand that he must be "the man" that they're now referring to. What that ultimately means is that whenever you get a scene like that, almost every instance of "the first man" or "the man using her mouth" is a liberty that I have taken, in aid of the reader being able to keep track of what the hell is going on.

That aside, I have also started to take some more unnecessary liberties, because of a few aspects of Japanese prose that sound like crap in English. They have no concept of a run-on sentence, or how awkward it sounds to use the same word too frequently. I had to deal with this just today, because Chronos seems to be an abnormally repetitive game. I really don't like to change things unnecessarily, as it's not the job of the translator to make the text say what you think it should have said. But I do find myself increasingly replacing overused terms, or reworking sentences, for the benefit of readability.

I've noticed a trend where certain hentai will get their Chinese, Korean and Spanish translations quite a while before they get their English ones. With the Chinese and Korean it kind of makes sense given the proximity but why do you think the Spanish have such a strong interest in the erotic Japanese literature scene?

I think it's probably Latin America, if anything. They're enormous weebs.

From what I've seen, most Spanish translations seem to be based on English ones, and often don't even change the title to hide that. I suspect that if you see a Spanish translation before you see an English one, that's because the English version was DMCA'd by a predatory localizer. There are a couple of companies around that have made a name for themselves through piracy, and then gone "legit", and started issuing aggressive takedowns to all their fellow pirate sites (i.e., their competition).

Anonymous asked:

Have i ever talked to you about are lord and savior Maika?

Not sure. I think you might have. I know there's a reason I have a SWAT team on speed dial.

Anonymous asked:

Human NTR, Orc NTR or Tentacle NTR?

Human and orc are equivalent. Tentacle isn't really NTR; it's just standard degradation.

IRS asked:

Hello this is the IRS. Can you now send your unpaid taxes?

No, sorry. Kinda busy. Better luck next year.

Anonymous asked:

Do you like office ladies?

I'm fine with them, but I don't especially care. It's like asking, "Do you like women who have a job?"

Anonymous asked:

I never transitioned into NTR? Is something wrong with me. I thought the consensus was that NTRfans had brain damage

Yes, but brain damage is really in right now.

Anonymous asked:

I haven't played rpgx but is it progressively becoming more vanilla? or did you mean only for rinko?

It's only a matter of time for people to transition from vanilla to ntr imo, just focus on ntr already.

I obviously meant Yukikaze, who is one of the 729, 372, 012 people in RPGX who are in love with Fuuma. There have been all sorts of scenes involving them having sex at school, or Yukikaze dreaming about him, or whatnot. But none of them are netorare, or even netori.

RPGX is largely vanilla, although it still goes into hardcore territory quite a lot of the time—including things that Lilith has never really done much of before, such as femdom. If you want NTR, there are still a number of scenes where friends and love interests (even including Shikanosuke) are forced to have sex with other people, either in front of him or to save his life.

Anonymous asked:

What age is implied for Tatsurou, Yukilaze, and Rinko?

And also Asagi in TA0?

Obviously, in the original continuity, most of the students are meant to be underage, but they barely give us clues for any character, including the adults. Zero Asagi is meant to be a JK, so presumably she's 18 at the most.

This April Fool's image from years back shows Yukikaze to be 16, and Rinko to be 18. This is obviously unofficial, since the whole thing is a joke, but it would gel with the information we know in TY2. Seishuu Academy is a type of senior high school, and the ages at that level of Japanese education range from 15-18. Yukikaze is a first-year, Tatsurou is a second-year, and Rinko is a third-year. Given that many months had elapsed between TY1 and 2, it is possible that the characters were a year younger in TY1. At any rate, in TY2, that would likely make Tatsurou 17, Yukikaze 16, and Rinko 18.

Anonymous asked:

Has there been any hints towards TY3 or anything at all? I know gacha is still going strong, but this is getting quite ridiculous. Fuck, if any oil prince billionaire is reading this, please just send black lilith a few million dollars so they can fuck off with gacha and go back to VNs

I don't think it's even been mentioned in years. Plus, I question how willing Infini Brain would be to let them show her as the NTR Taimanin again. I can see that repelling the people who have been drawn to the series by the gacha games, and are used to her being a vanilla love interest for Fuuma.

Anonymous asked:

One of the biggest selling points of Chronos is that the game actually shows the heroines giving birth to their monstrous spawns, so going by what you have translate so far, how well does it deliver on those scenes based on narrative description and voice acting?  While I am waiting for your translation to get the full context, if I am going by the voice acting, Silvia has one of the better scenes where she is screaming her head off from the pain and pleasure, while Soiree comes off as a little too "quiet" for someone who suppose to be going through one of the most painful experiences of her life.

I can't say anything about voice acting. At this stage, I only refer to voice files to clear up ambiguities. The level of description is fairly light, as the whole story is supposed to be fast-paced. It doesn't seem to be treated as much of an agonizing experience, and I wouldn't say the game dwells on the event, either.

Anonymous asked:

Judging from how you feel you come off, do you think your friends/family/etc. would be surprised if they learned you are into porn? (I hope I phrased that well lol.) If not, do they already know?

I've already told all my friend about it. Apart from him, I don't think anybody would ever suspect. I tend to keep these sorts of things to myself. My family members barely know any of the hobbies or interests I have.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think a mesugaki taimanin would be a good addition to the series? Or would a spoiled brat work poorly as mindbreakfodder?

That would work for the gacha games, mainly on the basis that they've already let far stupider stuff in. It wouldn't work for the VN continuity, because that's mostly played straight, and such a character would make for an implausible fighter.

Anonymous asked:

I like to request a translation of Mashou no Nie 3. Do think it is a little odd that we don't get a lot of pirate girl Hentai, unless it is a One Piece parody?

I haven't thought about it, but I guess. I suppose pirates haven't made the same kind of cultural impact over there.

Anonymous asked:

You have to pick a theme song from lilith to make an introduction to your wrestling career which one would you choose?

Are any of them really macho? Or is it to advertise what a little bitch I am?

Having just skimmed through the album, I would pick the Cara the Blood Lord theme. I can see that working, even if it doesn't fade out before the singing starts.

Anonymous asked:

is ur current partner a girl or a guy? ;)

My current partner is my hand. We go everywhere together.

Anonymous asked:

Sorry, I wanted to see what you were patching next before asking, since I haven't been around since you were on tumblr, but I can't find it, so what's the new project? (I don't have twitter if you posted it there).

Hyouryuu Kangoku Chronos.

If it's not Seigi no Henshin Heroine o Sasaeru Ore to Aku no Onna Kanbu, can i request it?

Somebody else is already doing that. It's supposed to be in an advanced stage, but I do not have any further information to give you.

Anonymous asked:

Whats your favorite comic/film hero & Villian ?

Please pay attention to the section on the ask page where it explicitly says not to ask me my favourite of anything. I usually don't have favourites, and I don't care about superheroes.
