There's nothing inherently wrong with it, but it's very iffy, dependent on the execution.

Also, would you enjoy tentacle scenes more if they were less of a pain to translate?

I never liked tentacles to start with. I'm sure I'm meant to focus on the disgust or degradation aspects, but to me, they're just a bunch of nondescript tubes. They might as well be garden hoses, as far as I'm concerned.
