Do you think other countries will ever challenge japan's dominance of visuals novels like with gacha games? I'm leaning towards no but I never expected genshin or blue archive to take off in japan either.

Korea has the potential to do it. Possibly China as well. I wouldn't expect the West, because in Japan VNs are an established industry, whereas over here they're just something hipsters shit out so they can call themselves game developers with a minimum of effort.
