Is there a better software than Deep L to translate japanese to english?

Not as far as I've tested. I haven't tried the most sophisticated AIs, but I have been led to believe that they currently produce the best results. (At the cost of being censored, of course.) However, both GPT and DeepL still have the problem where instead of translating, or even paraphrasing, they will just start making stuff up. And if you need to rely on machine translation to understand something, you obviously won't be able to tell when this is happening or not happening. It's the same reason why you shouldn't rely on AI to report on anything factual: they're not magic Googling tools as much as random text generators that happen to have some knowledge in their databases.
