Since the translator of "Seigi no Henshin Heroine o Sasaeru Ore to Aku no Onna Kanbu" is missing,will you put the title on your list again?
It's almost certainly what I'll move on to once I'm able to get to another project. It has far and away the most requests of anything on the list, and it's been two years since I last heard from the guy. However, he may have a little more time to suddenly pop back into existence, because there are already early signs that this year is going to be as annoyingly busy for me as the last.
Art is nice but its just so damn vanilla. "Sex with protagonist only" tag should tell you as much. If you pick it up, I'm afraid you're gonna run into another wasteland year on this blog like with Tsuma Netori bc I have no idea how this pathethic Harem game made it so high on the list. Can't believe Black Lilith made this crap bc there is no Black Lilith about it. Likely made by the same crew who decided to make half of RPGX scenes for vanilla soyboys to attract a wider audience.

Those I saw who were interested, seem to absolutely hate Taimanin and other BL works. Plz skip this shit.
It’s also got a scene where the impregnated heroine gets turned into a futa, and raped by the female villain. I doubt that part’s vanilla. I don't see "Sex with protagonist only" on the game’s VNDB page; instead I see things like "Anal rape" and "Monster birth".
DeleteTsuma Netori was a consequence of (a) there being a very low threshold for a game to reach the top spot nowadays, and (b) enough requests being built up over a seven-year period for it to finally get there. I also made the mistake of listening to someone who warned me not to do the game I was going to do, and gee look what happened.
This game, meanwhile, was immediately popular from the moment it came out, and has been overshadowing everything on the list by a wide margin for many years now. The number of times I’ve had to explain the situation with the other translator should tell you that it’s been in demand. Also, more importantly, I promised to do this several years ago, and if it weren’t for him disappearing, it would be done by now.
Frankly, if “Sex with protagonist only” is the sort of thing you find a dealbreaker, you’re not going to like quite a lot of the other games that people ask for. There are a very small number of Lilith titles that anyone still cares about, and one of them is Tentacle and Witches. Once those are done, the themes of the remaining ones are all over the place, and some of them are genuinely vanilla.
For the “sex with protagonist only” tag in the game:
DeleteI belive the protagonist is the one getting turned into a monster and fucks the girls, so essentially, it is “Sex with protagonist only”. The only exception being 1 ending I believe where a group of guys is holding one of the heroines down while she futa fucks another heroine.
”Sex with protagonist only” is the ultimate vanilla tag, doesn’t really matter how rough the sex gets. You could have a husband-wife rough bdsm game and it would still be very vanilla compared to anything you translated before.
If the women is monopolized by the MC only, it shows attachment is prioritized over the corruption and degradation for the heroine. It also throws any semblance of NTR/Sharing completely out of the window, another recurring theme most of your previous works included in one way or another.
From your translation history, I’m pretty certain most of the fans you have accumulated throughout the years, are composed mainly of Corruption and NTR enjoyers. We have almost come to expect those genres of you at this point. SWPO games is basically the antithesis of that. Sure, you may find a few swpo corruption games that do a reasonable job, but they all pale in comparison to games where MC isn’t afraid of sharing his bitches, or even better, when there is no male protagonist at all!
The reason I think so many swpo and other vanilla games find themselves high on the list is simple. Vanillafags are the most dedicated and pathetic bunch you will ever see. They get so attached to heroines of some works, they scour the earth for every single translator they can possibly find to request said work be translated, so that they may finally understand what their bride-to-be waifu is saying. Most of those requesters have not played a single of your previous translations, in fact, I think they hate those kind of works. You are just one of the many translators they are continually begging to have their waifu game translated. Most won’t even notice you picked up their request before its completed and shared somewhere else because they don’t follow you like we do, they are not your fans.
It’s an NTR corruption game. That’s the entire point of it. The protagonist is the one being stolen by the bad guy. She makes him evil and gets him to rape his childhood friend. Hell, to judge from the website previews, they’ve even got exact parallels to the usual Lilith tropes. Mary Jane doesn’t wash her vagina any more than your typical bad guy washes his dick. It looks like the teacher has some fairly vanilla scenes so that you don't immediately realize she's in disguise, but other than that, it's NTR, femdom, monster rape, etc.
DeleteAlso, this blog gets an average of 15-20 returning visitors a day. That's hardly a fanbase. Even then, it's very possible that some of them would like to have something other than the exact same thing over and over. Just three days ago, somebody requested both this and Boku no Elf Onee-san, so that person clearly isn't against the standard Lilith format.
Reverse-NTR and is not NTR. That is a wholly different kink for a different audience, just like how Netori is completely different from Netorare with often completely opposing audiences. One likes to cuck, the other likes to get cucked. This one, seem to focus on….. seeing your Girlfriend get cucked? By yourself in a reverse-rape? A scenario I have no idea who exactly it appeals to but it seems extremely niche.
DeleteThe reverse-corruption in this also seem completely off for what a traditional corruption fan would want. Corruption fans are interested in seeing the females become corrupted and turn into wanton sluts, not the godamn male protagonist. To me, that feels almost like getting Yaoi thrown in your face in a straight nukige.
All I’m saying is, this is very different from all the works you have translated thus far, and I don’t think your actual fans will enjoy it much. We certainly won’t like it more than Tsuma Netori and that was more similar to past translations in terms of genre and kinks than this.
Also, you shouldn’t look at daily visits for an estimate of your fans. A weekly count of unique visits would be much more precise because even I don’t visit the blog every day. Anyhow, what you’re gonna do next is up to you, I gave my 2 cents. I will just have to skip another one of your translations again and hope for a better game next time that is more in-line with the genres/kinks of your previous translations. Good luck with whatever you choose.
I will of course follow the progression of this current gem you’re working on closely because that is gonna be an absolute banger!
I mean, most of the points you make are justified, particularly the ones about audience and whatnot. But every time you try to describe the contents of the game, it sounds like you have no idea what you’re talking about. When I look at CGs where the main character has a ten-foot dick and is inflating the living shit out of somebody’s uterus, the last word I think to describe it is vanilla. What I’d say is that the game is a bit more “Black Lilith meets Empress” than what you would usually expect from them.
