Do you prefer cum served in a wine glass or a milkshake mug?

Obviously wine glass. Let's not be vulgar, here.

Anonymous asked:

From what you’ve seen at least, would you say your translation for Tsuma Netori is your least hyped translation so far?

It basically killed all traffic to this blog, so yeah, probably.

Anonymous asked:

Do you feel Alice has a decent cast of characters overall?

They're good enough. They have potential, but most of them don't have enough presence in the story.

Anonymous asked:

Would you say Tasmanian Kurenai’s story starts off as fine but later becomes worse? I’m asking because that seems to be the case to me. However, I haven’t played the game and only read a synopsis on the wiki (outside of watching one H-scene and the scene of the sting operation)

It's not a great story from the offset.

There's an unjustified conception of the Taimanin series, which proliferates among secondaries and non-fans, that the premise to every story is, "Oh boy, I went undercover as a prostitute in a whorehouse, and gee would you look what happened!" They're mainly thinking of Taimanin Yukikaze, although even then, there are a lot of things set up to justify the course of events there.

But that is pretty much the setup for TK, and it doesn't make a lot of sense. Maybe the main characters don't have reason to think they'll actually be betrayed by someone on the inside, but it's still clear that Tomari can't be trusted. Kurenai stakes her reputation on the success of the mission rather easily, almost as if inviting him to screw her over. After the capture, it's the standard Lilith training format, so there's virtually no plot until the end, when they suddenly try to work in their backstory for the villain at the last possible moment, which is completely the wrong place for it. Dropping that at the end is way too late, and given that he obviously gets beaten shortly thereafter, there's no chance of it leading anywhere, either. Even details of the geography change, such as when Tendou's nightclub goes from being in Tokyo Kingdom to Yomihara. I don't know how they messed up these simple things, given how little plot there is, and the fact that it's written by the same guy who wrote proper VNs like Cartagra.

Anonymous asked:

Do you have any plans on soon translate a game or you're on a hiatus phase? If you have, what game it's in your mind? (do not mind the bad english and it's a genuine question, I don't wanna be rude at all)

Basically, I'm going to be alternating between doing VNs and gacha content. The gacha stuff is pointless, but there is a demand for it, and it's useful to have a project that has very little chance of getting sniped by a localizer. I don't know what actual VN I'll be doing next. I've considered Himekishi Lilia and its IZM, since it's just outside the top five on my requests list, and only about as long as TA1.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think the characters in Chronos are forgettable?

The who?

Anonymous asked:

Since Tsuma Netori is so boring, do you think you could fall asleep to an English narration of its story without the H-scenes? (I think this is a half-serious, half-joking question for the record)

No. I'm at least boring enough to take a passing interest in the premise. But that's all it would really have left, because there's clearly no plot involved.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think Ochiru Hitozuma would be at least a bit better if it had at least one ending in which the protagonist loses like many LIlith games (at least to my understanding)?

That wouldn't really solve anything. The game is a variant of the Kangoku Senkan format, only with the heroines being trained consecutively. Having a bad ending would be underwhelming, because like the KS games, it would simply result in a very short "you lose" ending, but unlike the KS games, there wouldn't even be any plot built up around it.

Anonymous asked:

How is your Valentine dinner

Wonderful. Candlelit table, very romantic. I had the singer come and serenade my hand.

New update on the Rentry page.

It's the middle of February, the most romantic time of the year, so that must mean it's time to dress up as horrifying monsters. Look, the calendar works differently in future Japan, okay?

Anonymous asked:

How do you prefer Tokiko or Ingrid (in terms of their characters)?

How do I prefer them, or which of them do I prefer? Because I like Ingrid the way I like my coffee: brown and full of horse sperm.

I don't know if there's all that much difference between them these days. They both get very little focus, and are mostly just there for the sake of being there. But I would say that Ingrid at least still has some appeal, in terms of both her character design and the niche she occupies in the Taimanin world. Tokiko completely lost all reason for existing in RPGX. She went from mascot and assistant, to love interest and target of an intense NTR arc, to just another generic character. What sets her apart from, say, Saika? They both occupy the same kind of role, and are not-dissimilar character types.

Anonymous asked:

In your opinion, do Chronos and Alice have good or at least ok voice acting?

I wouldn't know, since I'm not a native speaker. Certainly, there wasn't anything good enough to transcend the language or cultural barrier. I also don't remember the voice acting in the slightest by this point.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think taimanin games require skill to play?

It takes years to master the skip button.

Anonymous asked:

can men get raped by attractive women?

No. Only the ugly ones would be that desperate.

Anonymous asked:

Can you tell us which characters have been in high voting demand or at least what kind of fetishes based on scene requests?

There have been 27 individual characters requested, and Maika, Ingrid and Tokiko are at the top. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that any of their scenes are right around the corner.

Anonymous asked:

Is there a particular genre of VNs you prefer translating?

No. I'm fine with anything. The only genre I would somewhat prefer to avoid is science fiction, and that's simply because I'm not as familiar with the vocabulary of Japanese sci-fi.

Anonymous asked:

You plan to translate first Astaroth scenes in RPGX? And dommy Oboro ones?

The way it works is, every time there's a chapter, or the poll results in "Other", I get to pick the scene based on whatever I feel like. That should eventually involve both of those scenes, but for now I don't think I can justify it, because they were recently and explicitly voted against. Some time will have to pass before I go back to them. Also, there is more character repetition in this early part of the game, so, for example, the next time Rinko is up for a vote, her scene will be replaced in the poll by the one that was just recently outvoted.

Anonymous asked:

Do you have any novel plannee to translate next?

No.

Anonymous asked:

Is Sophia’s (from Boku no Elf Onee-san) middle name “Arudisu,” “Ardys,” or “Ardis”? (For the record, the first two are used on vndb.org while the last one showed up when I put it in Google Translate out of curiosity)

Arudisu appears to be the official spelling.

Anonymous asked:

I recall you mentioning there are some structural problems with Alice’s story, so which structural issue is the most glaring to you?

You really expect me to remember what I was talking about six months ago? I'm sure I had things in mind back then, but the main thing I can think of at the moment is Bakgodek disappearing with no explanation or resolution. He's set up to have some kind of later involvement, but in the true route, he just doesn't exist after a certain point. He should have been in the final battle scene, probably getting killed by Jester, instead of remaining as a dangling, severed plot thread.

Anonymous asked:

I told my coworkers that I play rpgx the other day and now they all treat me like I'm some sort of degenerate. How do I earn back their trust?

If they know what that is, then they're just as guilty as you are. Maybe try blackmailing them. Then they'll have to trust you.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think the art in Alice is good? For the record, I think it is though some of the faces come off as odd to me as I recall

It's mostly good. It's certainly better than Taimanin Kurenai, where the colouring didn't work that well with ZOL's style.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think Lokithor is a good villain? I’m partly asking because he seems to at least have potential to be one to me

He was good until the end, where he suddenly became careless and stupid so that the plot could resolve.

Anonymous asked:

Do you think Jesus Christ being crucified on the cross looks kinda hot?

He probably was hot. That's what happens when someone leaves you out in the desert.

Anonymous asked:

Have you ever dyed your hair? The color doesn't matter

No.

Anonymous asked:

What do you think renaming canada to america's hat?

Better than Mexico being America's Thong.

Anonymous asked:

Do you listen to similar music while driving as you while translating or do you just prefer silence?

I don't have to listen to music. I'll inevitably get stuck next to someone who's helpfully blasting their own music for me.

Anonymous asked:

Would you say Alice has an interesting backstory?

It's not all that interesting. It would just have been preferable to nothing.

Anonymous asked:

Out of all lore on Alice's website that's not featured in the game (besides the Lorebook feature you added), which detail do you think should have been included the most?

I think the most relevant omission to the story is the section about how valkyries work. Other than that, it would have made sense to mention that Sigmund changed after his heirs were killed, or to go into Alice's backstory a little more.

Anonymous asked:

Is there a particular reason you don’t seem to listen to music with lyrics (or at least whilst translating)?

Because I'm trying to concentrate. I wouldn't listen to any music, if not for the fact that it helps keep my eyes from glazing over.

Anonymous asked:

Are you excited to become an American? There are rumours going around that America is interested in you guys.

I'm shopping for a trailer as we speak.

Anonymous asked:

Do you read your questions even before you're getting ready to answer them? (I'm referring to both her and on Tumblr for the record)

Yes.

Anonymous asked:

I installed your latest rpg patches and now in reviewer it only shows me all eng scenes that are available, all jap scenes are gone. Is this by design? How to get them back in?

I use my own viewer, in the hope that when the lawyers find out about it, it won't lead them back to the original one. My patches are designed to work on either, but you'll have to re-apply the latest Japanese scene and story patches afterwards. That will bring your Japanese scripts back up to date, while leaving the English files alone.

Anonymous asked:

Was the Barnacle-type monster scene in Alice the most challenging to translate for the reasons that tentacle scenes tend to be difficult to translate?

Similar, but mostly related to the fact that when they're doing monsters, it can be difficult to conceptualize or convey the bizarre attributes they give them. That's not an issue when you're reading it, but when you're translating, the precise details suddenly become your problem.

Anonymous asked:

I'm planning on giving an anime-themed hoodie for my girlfriend. Do you think that idea is tardy or retardy?

Well, for starters, does she even like anime? Or are you just doing this to embarrass her? Because if she does wear anime merchandise, then you are legally obligated to point at her and yell "Neeeerrrrrd!" Which might spoil the moment.
