Or, they could make two dozen more cheap ASMR packages and make several times that profit, each. It's just not worth the effort anymore.

This is why I think they should adapt the existing games into RPGX. Take the original scripts, alter the details according to world and continuity differences, add more story, add cameos from the gacha characters, redo the art in the modern style, and sell them in segments for 300 Taima stones each. That way, you can rejig your model so that you're still technically making VNs, but they also count as gacha content, and have enough story to fit comfortably into the SFW version. Then, once you've remade all the originals, you can continue into, say, Taimanin Maika, without having to do all the things that a proper VN requires, like having original background, music and enemy sprite assets. That would fit very comfortably into Lilith's current "profit over effort" business strategy.
