Were there any scenes in eroges that outright disgusted you?
Not so far.
Better than nothing.

If you had to dress up as your least favorite Taimanin in public, how do you think it would go? For me, I don't know how screwed I am if at all (TABA Fuuma).
Seeing as that would almost inevitably involve crossdressing, no matter who it turned out to be, probably not well. There would likely be a lot of heads turned, unless I happened to be in San Francisco.
Anonymous asked:
Most satisfying Lilith villain defeat in your opinion? For me, it's Oboro's in the true ending of TA1.
I'd say Takuto getting blown up. Most of them aren't really "satisfying", per se. Either the villain is defeated too instantaneously, or they're not really dead. Black's defeat could be up there due to the dramatic emphasis on it, if they hadn't retconned which ending was canon.
Anonymous asked:
Which Taimanin do you think you're most likely to win in a fight with? (Fun fact: this is based on tier lists in which people rank how likely it is for them to beat fictional characters in fights.)
None of the mainstream ones. Not even TY1 Tatsurou. I would pick someone like Momoka, because she could be outsmarted by a potted plant.
Anonymous asked:
Do you think Shizuru should have gotten more hentai scenes in TY2?
Yes. There should definitely have been more scenes in general. The whole game should probably have been twice the length. They should have kept up the espionage plot in Tatsurou’s route, while throwing in increasingly obvious signs that something was amiss. We should have gotten to see various different classes, and the gradual change in character that the heroines experience. And we definitely should have gotten to see a Shizuru/Washizu scene, at the very least. There were all sorts of things they could have done to fill in those enormous time gaps.
Anonymous asked:
Do you like Yu-Gi-Oh ? What is your favorite monster if like it ?
Never seen it. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but I was the loser who skipped past the popular kids shows and instead watched Murder She Wrote on A&E. I was the only person in my class who could recognize Jessica Fletcher, but not Goku.
Anonymous asked:
Do you have any interest in playing any other Lilith games that you haven't played before (e.g. Miss Leet in Prison)?
I have played Misleet, not that I remember much about it. And I am interested in playing a number of them, but I don’t have the time for it.
Anonymous asked:
if you don't watch anime how tf did you get into this shit in the first place?
True Love '95, followed by X-Change 3. I have seen a few anime, but not enough to develop any taste in it.
Also you should hurry up and get started on one piece, you might die before you finish watching and no one deserves to die before finishing one piece
Nah, I'll just watch the live-action version. I can tell it's got the good old Netflix Seal of Quality.
Anonymous asked:
Which fictional character pissed you off the most?
Hell if I can remember. Keep in mind, I haven't consumed much media in almost ten years, so my memory of these things is not crystal clear. The only cases I can think of are Lilim and Minasaki in TABA, and other such irritations, but that's not really the same thing.
Anonymous asked:
Are there any TABA characters you actually wish you could see more of? For me, it's Rengyou Azami because she's cunning enough to give Fuuma a hard time and would have won if it wasn't for deus ex machina, assuming I'm remembering this correctly. (Granted, she's probably one of those characters you have to look up.)
Not a single one. It doesn't help that I didn't play the scenes, since they were all a bunch of nobodies and I had better things to do. I find most of the OCs more likeable in RPGX, but even then there aren't any that I actively want to see.
Anonymous asked:
Which eroge scene have you masturbated to the most?
Rarely do I ever go back and watch a scene again. Usually, I end up putting the files on an external drive to save space, and then forgetting about them. So the only thing that's coming to mind is the bad ending of Discipline where the heroine gets completely broken, which I must have come back to two or three times. It seems like nothing now, but it had quite an effect on me back in the day.

Do you think gachas will eventually completely replace the traditional release and forget business model of visual novels? Lilith has their rpgx, alicesoft has their escalayer gacha, and waffle has eden's ritter. Even august has iris mysteria (which for some reason is ip locked to japan lol).
Not completely. Doujin circles can't do gacha, and they're always going to be around. But the main players definitely will coast on gacha and brand recognition for as long as it prints money for them.

Hi rattan man,
Can you please cool it with translating ntr titles? Some neighbor of mine tried to get my wife to sleep with him and reacted badly when she turned him down. The police had to be called and they found a bunch of ntr visual novels patched with your translations. Maybe try your hand at translating wholesome titles instead?
Thanks,
Chad T.
I'll go back to some wholesome amputation and spine-breaking, just for you.

Do you ever get anon hate (either here or on Tumblr)?
No, this blog is practically an echo chamber. I think the only time that I ever got any seriously negative response was when I released Kangoku Senkan 2, and it made one person very angry for no apparent reason.
Anonymous asked:
Hi Rattan Man,
I'm an ugly bastard who's trying to get into the cückolding lifestyle and I hope you could give me some tips. When I tried to ask my neighbor if I could sleep with his wife he physically attacked me and called the cops on me. I don't understand how other ugly bastards can get away with mind breaking their next door milfs but when I try to do it I'm served with a court date and have to spend the night in jail
Best,
UG
Well, your first mistake was needing permission. The thing to do now is to put on obscene amounts of weight, until she gets sucked in by your gravitational pull.
Anonymous asked:
Which fictional character do you dislike/hate that almost everyone else seems to like/love?
Not a lot is coming to mind. Usually if I dislike something, I just ignore it. The only exceptions are the recurring or gimmick characters in TABA, because I couldn't not be subjected to little shits like Lilim if I wanted to keep up with the story. And even then, they're all considerably less cuntish in RPGX, to the point where I almost like some of them.
Anonymous asked:
Which Lilith character who became a sex slave deserved it the least in your opinion?
The answer that's coming to mind is that dog thing in Captive Market, who I vaguely recall being treated pretty cruelly. But that aside, I wouldn't say many of them "deserved" it. The one who deserved it most is Zero Asagi, since her story is an endless string of bad decisions. Rinko and Yukikaze also qualify in TY1, because they were getting cocky and brought their situation upon themselves. You could also say that most of the Kangoku Senkan characters "deserved" it, in the sense that they were a bunch of assholes. But by and large, the characters don't really deserve what happens to them. They're not stupid or dislikable enough for one to consider it their just desserts; they're either crimefighters trying to do their job, or normal people who have been unfairly victimized.

Do you believe AI translation will be capable of capturing the context of japanese or it will still need a lot of human help for that
Not yet, but eventually. I don't think it will ever be perfect, but there's potential for machine translation to become extremely sophisticated now.
kindanostalgictbh asked:
What do you think about anime becoming more mainstream these days? Do you ever miss watching pirated anime on 480p streams that need to buffer every 5 seconds?
I was never much of an anime fan, but the main thing I miss is fansubs. It used to be that you got a lot of choice when it came to translations, and now every single group is just passing off officially licensed translations as their own work. I remember watching shows where they would take a minute or two after an episode to explain some kind of cultural nuance, or expand on the plot with liner notes from the original light novel. You even had people doing fairly sophisticated karaoke effects for the theme songs, despite how totally unnecessary that was. All of these things are gone now, because nobody can compete with official localizers.

Do you feel happy or upset in this latest growth in technology
Mixed feelings. I like that it gives the average person the ability to do things we never thought a computer would be capable of. But also, like all tools, it's going to be abused, so I expect a lot of existing problems to get considerably worse.
Anonymous asked:
Will you keep your blog up to answer inane questions from random fans?
I'm not dead yet. It remains to be seen how soon I'll be out-competed by technology and circumstance. When that does happen, the blog will still remain up, but probably won't be updated much after a certain point.

Hey man, thanks for all your work first of all. My anachronic ass just found out you translated yukikaze 2(3 years ago, and thank u), i read your note about the game and it seems too complex for my cenozoic brain- played the game for like 30 mins and saw the mod u talked about in description, but i dont understand if i should first play the game at my pace fully with all the routes i found(and then try the mod out), or simply get the first ending i get and then proceed with your mod.(Game seems complex, with all the added routes and stuff, but yeah sorry for cringe).
The mod is intended to be used when replaying the game, so that if you're already familiar with the story, you can experience it in a different way.
The easy way of thinking of it is as a choice between linear (TY1-style) and perspective-based storytelling. Vanilla TY2 presents the story rigidly from one perspective at a time, so as to build up the suspense and anticipation in Tatsurou's route when it becomes clear that something's wrong. The downside of this is that there's not much story for Tatsurou past a certain point, and a lot of scenes get taken out of the narrative for use in the diary pages, leading to massive timeskips. The mod puts all these scenes in chronological order, which (I think) improves the pace and comprehensibility of the story, but at a cost of losing that suspense and buildup. Also, it inadvertently makes certain scenes comedic, when the narrative flips between Tatsurou rationalizing the heroines' behaviour and what the heroines are actually thinking.
If you like the sound of both of those, but don't want to play the whole game twice to check it out, then you might try playing the original version up to the end of Tatsurou's perspective, and then switching over to the mod to replay the route. (You can skip ahead to the end of Shizuru's scene, obviously.) Then, you'll see all of the context that you've been missing throughout various scenes and conversations.

How do you feel about Shiravune deciding to officially translate the OG Taimanin Asagi: https://twitter.com/shiravune/status/1686906278067798018 ?
At this point, it doesn't even surprise me. What does surprise me is that they're producing the original low-resolution version, not the Vinos Player version that Lilith themselves were set on releasing. It looks like it's a new translation compared to that one, but it's still got some of the telltale language from the TABA localization, like "forces of the dark".
Something that pisses me off is that I was planning on updating TA3 (since I was speeding through it originally, and probably overlooked some mistakes), but there's no point if they're going to start localizing the series.
Hojomino asked:
Shiravune just announced their localization of Taimanin Asagi 1, what will this mean for your work?
Anonymous asked:
Seems like lilith are once again working with localization companies to put their stuff on steam. Will this affect any future projects?
I think I may still try to do Alice and Seigi no Henshin, since people really want those two, and there's no guarantee they'll pick up anything that's not part of the big cash cow series. That said, with all the localization that's being done, and people becoming increasingly content with machine translation, I think I'm very close to going the way of fansubs.

Have you thought about translating another VN of some popular OVA? For example, no one has translated the VN of "Ran - Sem", which became popular thanks to its OVAs but unfortunately wilder scenes and even the main character of a milf were omitted, and it was so popular that it had its famous crossover OVA " RIN×SEN & Ran→Sem".
I think in general, the usual danger applies: If something is popular, then it's more likely to be localized. Apart from that, I don't really care whether there's an adaptation or not. If an OVA is popular enough to spur interest in the original game, then theoretically, that should become self-evident through the number of requests. In the case of Ran Sem, I've had a few requests, but nowhere near enough for me to consider it.
