That sounds too technically difficult for me. I also would prefer not to do games which require a lot of playtesting to proofread.

Why would I need an AI spellchecker? Besides which, my only real problem there is trying to keep straight which spellings are correct for British, American and Canadian English.

If so, what would it be? You don't really have to be specific if you don't know/don't want to say, but maybe the genre or company or anything like that that you would like to translate just for your enjoyment, fans be damned?

Almost everything I've ever taken an interest in has either proven impossible to work on, been localized, or is likely to be localized. That would include things like Kenzen, Inyouchuu, Empress games, etc. There's pretty much nothing safe anymore.

None of it's "fun". It's work. It can be more engaging if it's novel, creative, etc., but that's typically not enough to distract from the task at hand. I would say the closest things are stupid lines or moments, like in the RPGX Yukikaze and Rinko scene, where Rinko uses her ninja arts to steal Yazaki's penis away from Yukikaze. That was briefly amusing. But it was sure less amusing by the fourth time I went over it.

That depends on what you want to learn it for. Obviously, if you have a business or emigration reason, then it makes total sense. If it's a hobby or personal interest, then sure. If you just want to understand Japanese media, then you'll probably only have to learn it if you're a purist about the translation quality. Otherwise, I anticipate that AI will soon reach a point where it's not "good" good, but it is "good enough" for most people. In Alice, for example, an AI MTL wouldn't automatically pick up on the Norse mythology theme—I just asked Bing, and it would translate Lokithor as Roxor. But I don't think most people genuinely care about things like that, or even the accuracy of the translation, as long as it's "good enough" for them to understand what's happening.

Here is the second Alice patch, which covers the Bakgodek route.

In addition to the sound effects from last time, I've added the game's promotional video as an OP. You'll also note the new Lorebook feature on the main menu. It's based on the lore and character profiles from the official website, with some extra stuff added directly from the script. I figured it was kind of a waste to go to that level of detail and not have it be shown in-game anywhere. Since I didn't implement this for partial patch 1, anyone who played that will need to skip through the early content again to trigger the new flags.

Also, to preempt any expectations, I'm probably not going to be adding the TABA scene for this game. I thought about it, but it didn't appear to be connected to the story, like with the other scenes I've ported.

Kind of off topic but would you happen to know how well the Azusa vs Orc series sold? I really liked their take (and somewhat shameless ripoff) of the OG taimanin formula. However, it seems like the series ended with the 3rd installment and the writer+artist+studio have spent the last five years working on more "traitional" ntr themed games.

No, that would be Tsuma Netori. Ochiru Hitozuma was a worse project to work on, but at least it was only boring to me, whereas Tsuma Netori appears to be boring to everyone.

That's not really true. It's been moving in that direction, but there are still plenty of scenes along the lines of the ones from the VNs. The main issues are that (a) they write a lot of characters (including major ones like Yukikaze) to be Fuuma-exclusive and vanilla, and (b) there's no permanence or continuity between the scenes. A lot of scenes set up the possibility of a sequel, but it's anyone's guess whether their plot threads will be continued or ignored. Maya shits her personality out, leaving it in the hands of a master trainer who plots to corrupt her, yet her next scene is her and Fuuma. On the other hand, they seem committed to the plotline of Hebiko becoming the town bike, but appear to have skipped over all the training she's supposedly been getting.

One way or another, they're not going to ditch RPGX for the foreseeable future. They're about to enter "Volume 2", whatever that means. Pretty audacious, to suggest your gacha game has a chance of lasting six more years. This is just what the Taimanin series is now.

side not whats your thoughts on them fumbling the bag on the rpgx global release?

It's baffling. I have no idea why they went out of their way to create that much extra work for themselves, and increase their costs by doing so, when all they needed to do was port the game as-is with English instead of Japanese.

Originally, a late 2000s teenager in his bedroom who found the OVA on PornHub, and realized to his shock that there are concepts more hardcore than "sex with a black guy".

These days, a waifu-loving South American who gravitates towards mobile gacha games because they help drown out the gunfire in the favelas.

Either way, I don't think that people who actually care about the series are in the majority whatsoever.
